John, Mike, and Tom serve on non-profit boards such as The Down Syndrome Association North Bay, Miracle League North Bay, Bombers Baseball, and Una-Vida.
From the beginning, Bob Kunst held himself and other local business leaders to high standards by serving as President of the Marin Builders Association (MBA) and Painting and Decoration Contractors of America (PDCA). Like Bob, Grandson John Busick is following in his footsteps, serving as President of the Marin Builders Association and sitting on the National Board for PDCA.

For over 5 generations, the Kunst name has been synonymous with exceptional quality and craftsmanship in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa County.
1871
Henry Kunst immigrated from Germany to New York where he worked as an apprentice painter. He eventually found himself moving West while he painted rail-cars for the Railroad Company.
1900s
In the early 1900's, Bob's father and uncle (John and Charlie Kunst) founded several paint stores throughout the state of California, and eventually opened a paint manufacturing company, "Kunst Brothers Paints." Unfortunately, while Bob and his brothers were serving in the US Army, the paint factory burned down.
1953
Bob returned from the Korean War and started his painting career
1958
Bob Kunst Painting Inc. was born
1979
Bob Kunst serves as Board President at Marin Builders Association
1984
Mike Busick, Bob's son-in-law, joins the team
1985
Tom Kunst, Bob's son, joins the team
1987
Bob Kunst Painting wins Environmental Award for sustainability in the painting trade
1992
Bob retires. Mike and Tom take over the company.
1995
Bob receives Marin Citizen of the Year Award
2008
John Busick, Bob's grandson, joins BKP full time
2016
John Busick launches Work Glue app for painting contractors
2017
John Busick serves as Board President at Marin Builders Association

5 Generations of Quality and Professionalism
John oversees all facets of the company. He’s passionate about the culture and values because it’s what guides all of us in our commitment to our customers, team members, community, and our trade. He is the 5th generation in the family.
Miguel ensures our field teams are perfectly scheduled and resourced for their upcoming jobs. He oversees quality, production, and general Kunst Painting happiness. He is also heavily involved in our recruiting, interviewing, and training of the painting crews.
Paula keeps everyone and everything organized. Not only is she the friendly voice on the other end of the phone, she oversees all-things behind the scenes.
Suzy is responsible for capturing and showcasing the company's painting projects, including exterior and interior paint jobs as well as commercial work. She curates content for social media and direct mail campaigns, effectively highlighting the exceptional quality and strong values of the company to the public.
